Which Should I Follow the Head or the Heart?

Which should I follow: the head or the heart?

Gratitude practice follows the feeling of the heart. People who have to use their brains a lot to survive in a competitive society have a hard time following their hearts. It may be awkward to put aside the thoughts in your head and feel gratitude with your heart.

The mind refers to the thoughts and emotions that are created in the head. The lower part of the mind contains instincts for survival. The present conscious mind is called the ego mind, and the lower conscious mind is called the submind.

In the head is the present consciousness and the subconscious mind, and in the heart is the soul. The soul is the immortal self, the seed of oneself. To follow the heart means to follow the feelings and guidance of the soul. When the body dies, the soul transitions to another dimension and exists there.

The essence of the soul is called the Divine. The Divine is mostly asleep while the human mind acts as the master. The Divine does not work or guide. It simply watches. When you love the Divine, surrender to the Divine, and surrender your mind to the Divine, the Divine awakens. When you awaken the Divine, the Divine Flame begins to illuminate the body and energizes it. The body becomes filled with the invisible light of life.

Gratitude practice is the work of awakening the divine and illuminating it with the light of the divine. We practice gratitude to restore the divine within us, the bright me like the sun. Gratitude practice is not the work of strengthening the ego. If we do not call out the divine and do it with the divine, gratitude is like an empty echo. The divine will create and the divine will manifest.

So how can we awaken the Divine? The Divine respects the free will given to humans. Humans must let go of their free will and empty their minds so that the Divine can enter their minds. When the Divine and the mind are united, the ego mind is upgraded and becomes the Divine Mind. The Divine is the Creator's consciousness filled with love and compassion, which are the universal truths of the universe.

The Divine Mind will clear and purify the dark and negative mind. Living with the Divine Mind is a very difficult and challenging task that requires courage and perseverance. When you know the Divine Mind, living with the ego mind will no longer be fun.

Awakening to the Divine, owning the Divine, and living with the Divine is a completely different life than you have lived so far. The feelings of the Divine seem irrational and non-linear, so it takes time to adjust. If you accept and embrace the messages of the Divine with gratitude, you will later understand the meaning on your own.

Don't look for the Divine in the universe. The Divine is within you. Simply trust and accept the Divine and you will awaken. The feeling will be subtle at first, but will gradually become stronger.
